Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra review: the top dog of folding Androids
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is presented as one of the strongest Android foldables available, combining a conventional smartphone form with an 8in tablet screen. Its slim, light design, bright displays, capable software and long battery life make it a compelling option for people wanting one device for both phone and tablet tasks, although its £1,899 price makes it a premium purchase.
The 215g handset is 8.9mm thick when folded and has a 6.5in outer display, while its inner 120Hz OLED screen is brighter, sharper and easier to use in sunlight than earlier models. It uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, offers 12GB or 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage, and its 13.6% larger battery lasts roughly two days; however, the screen crease remains noticeable and the softer folding display attracts fingerprints.
- Samsung’s Fold 8 Ultra offers a refined phone-and-tablet experience.
- Two-day battery life is a significant improvement.
- Excellent hardware comes with a £1,899 price.
