Samsung has officially unveiled its 2026 foldable lineup, expanding from two to three models for the first time, alongside two new Galaxy Watches. The new range includes the Galaxy Z Fold 8, a wide-body foldable aimed at media consumption rather than multitasking, the top-tier Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and a thinner Galaxy Z Flip 8, with all devices available for preorder now ahead of an August 7 release. The launch matters because it marks a design shift for Samsung's foldables and a notable price jump, driven by ongoing component shortages.

All three phones run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip with Android 17 and One UI 9, but differ in screen shape and price: the Z Flip 8 starts at $1,200, the Z Fold 8 at $1,900, and the Z Fold 8 Ultra at $2,100. The Ultra keeps the familiar near-square unfolded display and adds a 200MP main camera, while the new wide-body Z Fold 8 unfolds to a 7.6-inch 4:3 screen designed to reduce black bars on video and suit document reading. Battery capacity has also grown, with the Z Fold 8 and Ultra reaching 4,800mAh and 5,000mAh respectively, up from 4,400mAh in last year's Z Fold 7.
