Bournemouth's Alex Scott and Real Betis winger Antony were both sent off after a brawl broke out between the two teams during a pre-season friendly in Seville, which finished 2-2. The dismissals came after a flashpoint just before half-time when Betis midfielder Nelson Deossa kicked the ball at Bournemouth defender Bafode Diakite following a foul, triggering a confrontation that saw the referee show red cards to both Antony and Scott.

Bournemouth had taken the lead through Marcus Tavernier in the 41st minute, before Cucho Hernandez levelled for Betis in the 57th minute. Evanilson restored Bournemouth's advantage before Pablo Fornals scored a late equaliser for the La Liga side to secure the 2-2 draw. Bournemouth's final pre-season fixture is against Mainz on 15 August, ahead of their Premier League opener against Manchester City on 23 August.
