San Diego Comic-Con 2026 delivered a wave of trailers over the weekend, with much of the buzz centred on cyberpunk and science fiction adaptations. Alongside various announcements across film, TV and gaming, the convention offered first looks at two long-awaited streaming series based on genre classics, plus fresh footage from returning fantasy and sci-fi favourites, giving fans plenty to anticipate in the coming months.

Amazon unveiled Blade Runner 2099, a limited series set 50 years after the original films starring Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer, streaming from 25 November, alongside Mike Flanagan's take on Stephen King's Carrie, arriving 7 October, and a third season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (with Simon Pegg voicing a Balrog) from 11 November. Apple TV showed off Callum Turner in an adaptation of William Gibson's Neuromancer, launching 22 January, alongside season two of Dark Matter from 28 August. Other reveals included Futurama's 14th season (3 August), a second season of Common Side Effects, and HBO's space-cop drama Lanterns, alongside separate SDCC news such as Ryan Gosling as the next Ghost Rider and a February 2027 release date for God of War: Laufey.
