Sean Penn's disaster relief organisation CORE has launched a $5 million fundraising campaign called Todos con Venezuela to support recovery efforts following devastating earthquakes that struck the country in June 2026. The campaign, hosted on the Tiltify platform, has received a lead donation of $500,000 from the FIFA Foundation, football's charitable arm, and CORE plans to enlist artists, athletes and other philanthropists in the coming months to help reach its target. The initiative reflects CORE's long-standing focus on earthquake response, which began with Penn's work in Haiti in 2010.

The twin earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude, struck Venezuela on 24 June, primarily affecting La Guaira and the capital Caracas. The death toll has since risen to 5,069, with more than 16,700 injured and tens of thousands still missing, while over 850 buildings were damaged and 190 collapsed entirely. A World Bank assessment cited by Reuters put the direct physical damage at $19.6 billion, with rebuilding costs potentially double that figure. Penn said the campaign aims to bring the same coalition of support CORE mobilised after Haiti to help Venezuelan families access resources urgently.
