Sharon Osbourne kept Black Sabbath in the dark about doctors’ warnings that their Back To The Beginning farewell show could kill Ozzy
Sharon Osbourne says she did not tell Black Sabbath’s members how seriously ill Ozzy Osbourne was before the band’s farewell performance, because she feared they might try to stop him appearing. Doctors had warned that the show could kill him, she said, making the decision to go ahead a grave one.
The Back To The Beginning concert took place at Villa Park in Birmingham in July 2025, with Ozzy performing seated because of his health. Sharon said she alone knew the full extent of his condition and told the band only afterwards; Ozzy died 17 days after the show, aged 76.
