Sheffield Wednesday Midfielder Stunned By Bradford City Defeat – Football Lowdown

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Barry Bannan said he was stunned after his side lost 1-0 at home to Bradford City in their League One opener. The result mattered because Wednesday had controlled much of the first half but failed to take their chances, allowing Bradford to make a strong start to the campaign.

Aden Baldwin scored the decisive goal two minutes after half-time, finishing from close range following a corner. Wednesday had 59% possession and registered 13 attempts, but only two were on target; their best late opportunity fell to Jamal Lowe, who fired wide. Bradford’s victory was their second consecutive league win and took them to the top of the early table.
