Bulkhead’s tactical first-person shooter Wardogs surged into Steam’s top 10 best-selling games after its developers released an unusually candid video giving players “10 Reasons NOT to Buy” it. The approach appears to have built trust rather than discouraged purchases, highlighting growing player appetite for straightforward communication about early-access games and live-service monetisation.

The £39.99 game is due to enter early access in September 2026 and promises 100-player battles, destructible environments, base building and weapon trading. Bulkhead warned that updates may not arrive regularly, microtransactions could be added later, player numbers will fluctuate and it will not publish a development roadmap; it also acknowledged its previous game failed. Despite those caveats, positive previews and favourable reactions to the video helped drive rapid sales.
