Stephen Colbert rushed out of Harvard event, accosted by union protesters

Stephen Colbert was escorted out of a Harvard event after a fire alarm interrupted his talk during a protest by hundreds of union members. The event went ahead despite calls for Colbert and cellist Yo-Yo Ma to cancel in solidarity with a union picket line.

Protesters chanted outside the venue, making it difficult to hear the speakers. The alarm interrupted the question and answer session; the Harvard Graduate Student Union said it had no knowledge of its cause and denied responsibility.
