Steven Moffat is a prominent British television writer and producer, best known for creating acclaimed series including Doctor Who and Sherlock. Channel 4 has commissioned him to make a new drama called Number 10, which explores life inside the residence and office of the United Kingdom's Prime Minister, starring actor Rafe Spall.
International co-production is increasingly common in television, where broadcasters from other countries invest substantial funding in a British series in exchange for broadcast rights in their territories. This financial partnership helps fund production and allows programmes to reach audiences across multiple countries, which has become essential given rising drama production costs.
British television dramas have established a strong international audience, particularly in Europe. The fact that Number 10 has attracted interest from broadcasters across multiple continents reflects the global demand for quality drama and the confidence the industry has in Moffat's new project.
