Stockard Channing has appeared on a red carpet for the first time in two years, attending the London premiere of *Practical Magic 2*. The appearance is notable because the 82-year-old actor recently described herself as happily living a reclusive life in the UK after leaving the United States following the death of her long-term partner.

Channing reprised her role as Aunt Franny in the sequel, which reunites Nicole Kidman, Sandra Bullock and Dianne Wiest 28 years after the original film. She has lived in London since shortly before the Covid-19 pandemic, having moved after producer Daniel Gilham, her partner of 25 years, died in 2014; she said his death had a delayed but profound effect on her life.
