Stranger filmed trying to abduct girl, 13, outside gas station after grabbing her by her neck

Police say a 32-year-old man tried to abduct a 13-year-old girl outside a petrol station in Miramar, Florida, on Monday. The girl escaped and ran inside the station to call 911, after a witness shouted at the man; police say the incident was captured on camera.

Authorities identified the suspect as Michael Polanco and arrested him after the witness and girl recognised him. He faces charges including battery and kidnapping, was denied bond at a court hearing on Tuesday, and has a history of previous offences, according to police; his case is pending trial. It is unclear whether the girl was injured.
