Suno CEO Mikey Shulman Breaks Down V6 & Warner/BMG Partnership | On the Record
Suno, the AI music generation company, has launched its new V6 model suite in what CEO Mikey Shulman describes as the first version built "in partnership with the industry." The launch comes alongside newly announced partnerships with Warner Music Group, Believe and BMG, marking the first time Suno has agreed to share revenue with music industry partners, even as it continues to face copyright infringement lawsuits from other major players including Universal and Sony.
The V6 suite includes three models: the standard V6, pitched as best for most users; V6 Wild, aimed at more experimental and unconventional outputs; and V6 Mini, a smaller version that is the only one available to free users. The Warner partnership follows the company's exit from a joint copyright lawsuit in late 2025 as part of a settlement with Suno, while Universal and Sony are still pursuing their claims; BMG joined as a partner only weeks before this launch. Shulman also suggested the deals could eventually lead to new products allowing fans to remix, sample and interact with participating artists' music.
