Suno has launched three new AI music generation models — V6, V6-wild and V6-mini — trained exclusively on licensed tracks from Warner Music Group, BMG and Believe Music, marking a significant step for a platform previously accused of mass copyright infringement across the music industry. The move builds on partnerships Suno has struck with record labels over the past year and positions the company as trying to legitimise its technology, even as it continues to face copyright lawsuits from other major players.

Suno founder and CEO Mikey Shulman described the new models as "faster, more expressive and higher quality", adding features such as plain-language editing commands, track sampling and song generation from images and videos. V6 is aimed at paying subscribers, V6-wild offers more unpredictable outputs favoured by songwriters seeking fresh ideas, and V6-mini is free. Suno confirmed it shares revenue with its licensing partners but declined to disclose specifics on payment amounts or the volume of songs used in training. The launch follows WMG's landmark deal with Suno last November and BMG's more recent August agreement, though Suno still faces litigation from Universal Music Group, Sony Music Group and a new class action from musician Jason Isbell.
