Surprise, Age of Empires 3: Definitive Edition’s Baltic Powers expansion has re-emerged from the annals of cancelled DLC history, will come out in September
Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition’s previously cancelled Baltic Powers expansion will now launch on 10 September 2026. Its return matters because the content, first announced in February 2024 and cancelled in January 2025 as premature, is again being developed for the strategy game.
The expansion adds Denmark and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth as playable civilisations, alongside maps inspired by regional conflicts, challenges and two new modes. Regicide grants victory for killing an enemy Regent, while Independence removes home-city support; an open beta runs from 23 July to 6 August, and the game’s free Steam trial will be removed on 13 August.
