Taylor Swift Receives Artist Director Honors at 2026 MTV VMAs: Here’s Her Speech
Taylor Swift received the inaugural Artist Director Honors at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, recognising her work directing music videos. She dedicated the award to fans, saying their interest makes the work rewarding, and used the occasion to premiere her latest video, “Patient Zero”.
Actor Dakota Johnson presented the honour and appeared in the video alongside Colin Farrell. Swift said she had worked on roughly 60 music videos over 20 years and directed 18 of them; her directing credits also include “All Too Well: The Short Film”. Before this year’s ceremony, she had won 30 VMAs, including four for best direction.
