Old Bailey hears teenager accused of plotting mass-casualty terror attack
A 16-year-old boy has appeared at the Old Bailey accused of preparing a terrorist attack involving plans to seize a police officer’s gun, hijack a car and drive into people. Prosecutors allege his motivation was hostility towards society and British people, alongside suicidal thoughts and a desire to commit mass violence.
Police reportedly found knives, pepper spray, a sword and an axe at his Nottingham home, as well as documents describing his alleged plans and ideology. The teenager cannot be named, is expected to enter pleas in January and is due to stand trial at Nottingham Crown Court in April.
