Tencent Video has unveiled the first animation and character materials for its upcoming animated adaptation of the best-selling Warrior Cats books. The reveal confirms Rodrigo Blaas as director and A.C. Bradley as showrunner, signalling a high-profile creative team for a series intended to bring the franchise’s established characters and stories to screen.
At a fan event in Shenzhen, Tencent showed footage of animated characters and environments, alongside a 3D character model created by Blaas. Original Force is producing the animation, and the series will adapt the first book arc, Warrior Cats: The Prophecies Begin; it is scheduled to debut on Tencent Video platforms in China and South-East Asia in 2028.
