Terri Clark Shares Why Leaving Country Music Behind Simply Isn’t an Option
After more than three decades in country music, Terri Clark says she still wants to record and tour, and does not see retirement as an immediate choice. She is mindful of the risk of staying on stage after her voice has changed, but feels she owes it to the teenager who first pursued a music career to keep going while she can.
In an interview on Tracy Lawrence’s podcast, Clark recalled being invited to join the Grand Ole Opry and headlining the Ryman Auditorium, a milestone made especially meaningful by its closeness to where her career began in Nashville. She has earned places in both the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame and the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, and says age alone will not decide when she stops performing.
