Residents in a small Louisiana town say low-frequency rumblings and vibrations began after VLS Environmental Solutions opened a barge-cleaning and repair facility across the Mississippi River. They claim the disturbances disrupt sleep, shake older homes, crack driveways and cause illness, prompting complaints to Iberville Parish since 2024.

A parish-commissioned study by IVC Technologies found no abnormal frequencies or low-frequency events capable of causing structural shaking. However, one monitoring device malfunctioned during the testing period, and residents questioned whether the equipment and investigators were appropriate; the parish remains open to further testing.
