The Blood of Dawnwalker’s update 1.1 adds a “forgiving” difficulty setting, but I think I’ll find it hard to forgive its introduction of “directional animal petting”

Rock Paper Shotgun ·

The Blood of Dawnwalker’s planned 1.1 update adds a new Story difficulty for players seeking extra help in combat, alongside changes to movement, target switching and frame generation. It matters because the update aims to make the game more accessible and responsive while giving players more ways to adjust their character.

The update, planned for next week, renames the previous lowest difficulty to Forgiving and adds a Draught of Mind Rebirth, which resets perk and ability points so players can try a different build. It also introduces “directional animal petting”, a feature the article jokes may require players to approach cats and dogs from the right direction; Rebel Wolves has not explained how it will work.

  • A new Story difficulty offers extra help in combat.
  • The update adds a potion to reset perk and ability points.
  • Directional petting for cats and dogs is also coming.
