The Hunger Games Officially Returns to Theaters in 1 Month

The Hunger Games is returning to cinemas with Sunrise on the Reaping, due on 20 November 2026. Set in Panem’s past, the film follows Haymitch Abernathy’s selection for the Second Quarter Quell, offering a new story even though audiences know its eventual outcome.

Joseph Zada plays the young Haymitch, 24 years before Katniss Everdeen volunteers for her sister. The Capitol doubles the number of tributes for the 50th Hunger Games; Whitney Peak, Mckenna Grace, Jesse Plemons and Maya Hawke also star. Francis Lawrence returns as director.
