Google is rolling out its Health Guardian health tracking features for Pixel smartwatches this week, expanding the device's health monitoring capabilities beyond what was available at launch. This rollout marks the completion of promised functionality that should enhance the appeal of Pixel Watch models already rated highly by reviewers.

The Google Health app will begin receiving the Health Guardian suite immediately, with comprehensive trend reports available from early October. The features include blood pressure trends, insulin resistance trends, and sleep breathing quality metrics for Pixel Watch 3, 4, and 5 owners at no additional cost. European users with Pixel Watch 4 or 5 will also gain access to Breathing Emergency Detection, which automatically alerts emergency services if severe oxygen drops are detected. Fitbit Air owners with Google Health Premium subscriptions will receive the insulin resistance and blood pressure features later in the year, though no specific date has been confirmed.
