The Rolling Stones’ ‘Foreign Tongues’ Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales Chart

Billboard · 4 hours ago

The Rolling Stones’ new studio album, Foreign Tongues, has debuted at number one on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart, giving the band its first leader on the 35-year-old pure-sales ranking. The result also reinforces the group’s unusually long chart legacy, as the album enters the Billboard 200 at number seven and delivers their record-extending 39th top-10 album there.

Foreign Tongues reached the top 10 of six US Billboard album charts, including number two on Top Rock Albums and number three on Vinyl Albums and Indie Store Album Sales. Billboard’s sales chart counts physical and digital album purchases only; elsewhere in the top 10, the Heated Rivalry soundtrack and My Chemical Romance’s reissued Danger Days both appeared at number three, while albums by YEONJUN, Jack White and Future also debuted.

  • The Rolling Stones score their first Top Album Sales number one.
  • Foreign Tongues becomes their 39th Billboard 200 top-10 album.
  • The album also charted highly across rock, vinyl and indie sales.
