The Scale of Crimson Desert Just Got Even More Absurd After New PS5 DLC

Push Square ·

Charting the Unknown, a new DLC for Crimson Desert, has made the game’s already vast world substantially larger. A comparison video shows the original map occupying roughly a quarter of the expanded map, highlighting the scale of the new area.

Much of the added space is ocean, with islands to explore and underwater locations to discover. Players can build a ship, sail the seas and dive in a suit, where the expansion may hide hundreds of treasures. The DLC also adds three post-game questlines, one for each playable character, which are available only after completing the base game.

In short

  • The new DLC makes Crimson Desert’s map about four times larger.
  • Much of the added area is ocean, with islands and underwater exploration.
  • Three post-game questlines require finishing the base game.
