Ticketmaster Goes All-In on AI, Names Ex-Amazon Exec as Chief Technology Officer
Ticketmaster has appointed a new chief technology officer and two senior executives as it expands its use of artificial intelligence. The changes are intended to tackle persistent bot attacks, strengthen its technology and data systems, and improve ticket access and fan experiences.
Jim Freeman, formerly an Amazon vice president involved in launching Prime Video, will lead Ticketmaster’s AI work. Rachel Smith, previously at Block, will oversee data science and machine learning, while product veteran Chuck Mortimore will help shape product strategy. The company has also brought in the team from AI startup Raige.ai, which it acquired in July; the appointments follow the departure of former CTO Carlos Alvarez-Coch in February.
