Tom Hanks Sets Broadway Return in ‘This World of Tomorrow’

Tom Hanks is set to return to Broadway in his own play, *This World of Tomorrow*, starring alongside Kelli O’Hara. The limited engagement is planned for autumn 2027 at a Shubert Theatre, marking Hanks’s first Broadway appearance since *Lucky Guy* in 2013.

The play follows Bert Allenberry, a man from the end of the 21st century who travels back to the 1939 World’s Fair and falls in love. Hanks co-wrote it with James Glossman, adapting stories from his book *Uncommon Type*; Hanks and O’Hara reprise their roles from the 2025 Off-Broadway run at The Shed. Kenny Leon will direct, with the specific theatre and dates still to be announced.
