TONY IOMMI Confirms He Will Appear On WILLIAM SHATNER’s Upcoming Heavy Metal Album: ‘It’s Really Good What He’s Doing’
Tony Iommi has confirmed he will guest on William Shatner’s forthcoming heavy metal album, after contributing a guitar riff to a track whose lyrics he said address current events. The collaboration brings together the Black Sabbath guitarist and the 95-year-old Star Trek actor, whose spoken-word vocal style Iommi described as distinctive.
The album, titled *What The F Is Heavy Metal?*, is tentatively scheduled for release in 2027 through Cleopatra Records. It is expected to feature around 50 guest musicians, including Brian May, Rob Halford, John Moyer and Dave Lombardo; Shatner previewed six songs at Chicago’s Riot Fest in September, including three covers.
