Two missing children who suddenly disappeared are FOUND years later living under different names… and there’s a fresh twist in the case
Two children reported critically missing from Washington State in December 2023 have been found safe in Virginia, nearly three years after disappearing. Police say their mother took them after losing custody and gave them new names to avoid detection, and the children were returned to their father on 16 September.
The US Marshals Service became involved after months without leads, working with police agencies across three states to trace the children near the Washington, DC area. It remains unclear whether the mother will face charges; since 2015, the Marshals Service says it has helped locate or recover 5,281 missing children.
