U.K.’s National Film and Television School Partners With Angels Costumes on New Sandy Powell-Backed Costume Design Course (EXCLUSIVE)
The U.K.'s National Film and Television School has partnered with Angels Costumes and John Gore Studios to create a new postgraduate degree programme addressing the screen industries' growing need for qualified costume designers and supervisors. The two-year course will admit its first cohort of ten students in January, with participants receiving access to Angels' extensive collection and archives alongside professional placement opportunities at the company's London base.
The programme has been shaped by three-time Academy Award-winning costume designer Sandy Powell, who acts as the course ambassador and whose name is attached to a dedicated scholarship designed to ensure financial need does not prevent talented applicants from participating. Angels Costumes, founded in 1840 and recently acquired by John Gore Studios, will provide industry advisory input and support selected student productions with costume resources and expertise.
