Ubisoft has reportedly offered to buy Arkane Lyon from Xbox

Ubisoft has reportedly bid to buy Arkane Lyon from Xbox, alongside at least two other unnamed gaming companies. The possible sale comes amid Xbox’s restructuring and could determine whether the Dishonored and Deathloop developer remains part of a larger company or becomes independent.

Xbox is also said to be considering selling the studio to its own management. Arkane’s future game Marvel’s Blade, announced in 2023, and the rights to its existing franchises could be affected, though their fate is unclear. Ubisoft has recently restructured, cancelled projects and laid off staff; independence also brings funding challenges, as other studios’ experiences show.
