Ubisoft reportedly among bidders for Dishonored and Marvel’s Blade dev Arkane from Microsoft
Ubisoft is reportedly among several bidders seeking to acquire Arkane, the studio behind Dishonored, Prey and Deathloop, from Microsoft. A sale could determine whether the Lyon-based studio remains open, protecting hundreds of jobs and the future of its in-progress Marvel’s Blade game.
Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier reports that multiple parties have made offers, including at least two other gaming companies, but their identities are unknown. Microsoft began seeking to divest Arkane as part of a wider effort to make its business profitable, following thousands of job cuts across the company; Arkane’s 2023 release Redfall was poorly received, increasing pressure on Blade, which has not been shown since its debut trailer nearly three years ago.
In short
- Ubisoft is reportedly bidding to acquire Arkane from Microsoft.
- Multiple other parties have also made offers.
- A deal could affect hundreds of jobs and Marvel’s Blade.
