UK poll tracker: Reform still behind Conservatives as Labour’s lead grows

The Independent ·

A YouGov poll puts Labour three points ahead of the Conservatives and four ahead of Reform UK, which has slipped to third place for a second week. The shift matters because Reform had led national polling for much of the period from March 2025 to August, while Labour’s recent recovery has prompted discussion of an early general election.

The poll, conducted on 18 and 19 October, comes as an aggregate of recent surveys puts Labour on 27 per cent, Reform on 22 per cent and the Conservatives on 21 per cent. Since June, support among former Labour voters has risen from 49 to 64 per cent, while backing among 18 to 24-year-olds has increased from 14 to 32 per cent; only 7 per cent of that age group would vote Reform. The Greens are on 10 per cent and the Liberal Democrats on 11 per cent.

  • Labour leads the Conservatives by three points in a YouGov poll.
  • Reform is third for a second consecutive week.
  • Labour’s support among 18 to 24-year-olds has risen to 32 per cent.
