UK video game industry charity football match raises over £63,000 for physically disabled gamers
SpecialEffect’s annual One Big Game football fundraiser has raised more than £63,000 to help physically disabled people access video games. The event brought together UK games-industry developers for 24 hours of consecutive matches, supporting the charity’s work on adapted controllers and eye-gaze technology.
Twenty-four teams took part, with notable results including EA beating Activision 3–2 and Jagex defeating Xbox’s “Score more with Xbox” team 2–1. The full event is available on SpecialEffect’s Twitch channel, and organisers have indicated that further events are planned.
