Union Members at RadicalMedia Ratify First Contract (Exclusive)
Workers in RadicalMedia’s nonfiction division have ratified their first union contract, securing new pay, rest and healthcare provisions. The five-year agreement is significant for freelance production workers, whose access to benefits and predictable protections can be limited.
The bargaining unit comprises about 50 workers represented by the Writers Guild of America East, with 95 per cent of voting members approving the deal. Minimum wage rates will rise by 2 per cent each year; the contract also includes health plan contributions, paid holidays, bereavement leave, minimum rest periods and compensation when a production is paused at short notice.
