Dallas-based rapper BigXthaPlug, real name Xavier Landum, has been arrested in Texas on charges including driving while intoxicated, marijuana possession and illegal possession of a firearm. The arrest is significant as it comes while he was already out on bail from a similar arrest a year earlier, and follows a high-profile 2025 performance at London's Wireless Festival and ahead of new music he had recently teased.

Allen Police Department confirmed the 28-year-old, known for hits including "Texas", "The Largest" and "Mmhmm", was stopped on Friday and is now being held in Collin County Jail. He had been due to perform at the Country Rising festival the same day but organisers announced his withdrawal citing a "personal emergency". He was previously arrested in August last year on charges of unlawful weapon possession and marijuana possession, and that earlier case is still ongoing.
