Swedish Viking death metal band Amon Amarth have released a new single, "Gjallarhorn," accompanied by a cinematic music video, marking a return to their signature heavy sound following the more subdued acoustic track "Upphaf" released two weeks earlier. The single arrives alongside the announcement of the band's 13th studio album, "The Allfather Awakens," giving fans their first substantial look at the band's next full-length release.

The Allfather Awakens is a ten-track album due for release on 2 October via Metal Blade Records, with lyrics loosely inspired by Odin, the "allfather" figure in Norse mythology. In addition to "Gjallarhorn" and "Upphaf," the tracklisting will include last year's single "We Rule The Waves." Pre-orders and merchandise bundles are already available through the band's official website.
