Rosalía surprised fans in Monterrey, Mexico, by breaking into an a cappella cover of Bad Bunny's "Safaera" while pouring herself a tequila shot during a stop on her "Lux" world tour. The moment, which saw the crowd join in singing along, replaced her usual ritual of drinking white wine before performing "Sauvignon Blanc", and quickly circulated online after being filmed by fans at Arena Monterrey.

The gig took place on Wednesday 19 August as part of Rosalía's ongoing tour in support of her fourth studio album "Lux", released last November. "Safaera" originally appeared on Bad Bunny's 2020 album "YHLQMDLG" alongside Jowell & Randy and Ñengo Flow, and he later performed it at this year's Super Bowl Halftime Show; Rosalía and Bad Bunny have collaborated before, including on "La Noche De Anoche" and a joint performance on Saturday Night Live in 2021.
