Lancashire neighbours oppose £6,000-a-night party venue over noise and traffic
Neighbours in Ightenhill, Lancashire, say a luxury party venue has disrupted the village with late-night noise, traffic and guests knocking on residents’ doors. Their complaints have emerged as Burnley Council considers a retrospective planning application for the property, which has operated as short-stay accommodation without planning permission.
The former care home, also known as Hunters Oak Barn, can host 30 guests and advertises facilities including a heated indoor pool, hot tubs and a private entertainment area, with rates of up to £6,000 a night. Residents and the parish council have raised concerns about large groups, foul language, coaches struggling on the narrow lane and vehicles obstructing driveways; the venue has welcomed guests since February 2019.
