Where to get Epona in Ocarina of Time
In the Ocarina of Time remake, Link can obtain Epona by learning her song from Malon and later winning two races against Ingo. The horse makes travelling across Hyrule Field faster, though Link must first grow up before he can ride her.
After waking Talon outside Hyrule Castle, visit Lon Lon Ranch and speak to Malon, who teaches Epona’s Song: X, Y, A, X, Y, A. Once Link has all three Spiritual Stones and travels to the future, return to the ranch by day, pay Ingo 20 rupees to enter the riding field, and use the song to summon Epona. Beat Ingo twice, then escape the ranch by jumping the gate; Epona can then be summoned with the song, but is rideable only in Hyrule Field and a small area of Gerudo Fortress.
In short
- Learn Epona’s Song from Malon at Lon Lon Ranch.
- Return as an adult and beat Ingo in two races.
- Escape over the gate to claim Epona.
