Where to preorder the updated Mac Mini and Mac Studio
Apple has unveiled new M6 and M5 Ultra processors alongside updated Mac Mini and Mac Studio desktops, now available for preorder ahead of most configurations shipping from 22 September 2026. The refreshed line-up focuses on AI performance and improved connectivity, arriving just weeks before Apple's usual autumn iPhone event, and represents the first processor upgrade for the Mac Mini since the M4 generation.
The Mac Mini now starts at $899 with the M6 chip, $300 more than the previous base model, or $1,699 for the M5 Pro version, and gains 2.5Gb Ethernet, Bluetooth 6 and Wi-Fi 7 as standard. The Mac Studio starts at $2,499 for the M5 Max configuration with 36GB of unified memory and 512GB storage, matching the outgoing M4 Max price, while the M5 Ultra model with 96GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD costs $5,499; a top-spec 512GB RAM version will follow in late October with pricing yet to be confirmed.
