Several Premier League clubs are generating record-breaking income from player sales this summer, with Aston Villa, Manchester City and Newcastle United all moving into the all-time top six for transfer income in a single window. This marks a shift from the usual narrative of Premier League clubs as big spenders, and with days left in the transfer window, Monaco's 2018-19 record of 360m euros could still be broken.

As of 26 August, Villa lead with 293.1m euros raised (£251m), driven largely by Morgan Rogers' £117m move to Chelsea, alongside departures including Ezri Konsa, Youri Tielemans and Lucas Digne, leaving them 132.6m euros in profit overall. City have banked 278.6m euros through sales including Savio, Rodri and Nathan Ake, though Ollie Watkins, Jack Grealish and Nico Gonzalez could yet be sold before the deadline, pushing the figures even higher. Newcastle sit close behind on 275.5m euros, boosted by Sandro Tonali's 108m euro move to Tottenham, while only Monaco, Chelsea (321m euros, 2025-26) and Atletico Madrid (314m euros, 2019-20) currently rank above this trio.
