WNBA Finals Game 6, a potential title-clincher, will be held in the afternoon on Thursday
Developing story first seen 4 hours ago
The WNBA has confirmed that Game 6 of the Finals will be played at State Farm Arena at 12:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, making it a potential weekday title-clincher in the afternoon. The schedule reflects a clash with the Atlanta Hawks’ NBA game at the same venue.
The Hawks are due to host the Cleveland Cavaliers at 8 p.m. ET after moving their tip-off back an hour. State Farm Arena holds about 17,000 people, compared with 3,500 at the Dream’s usual venue, and Finals games have sold out; Game 6 will air on USA Network and stream on Peacock. Other options included moving the Hawks’ game, which would create a back-to-back and conflict with NBA Cup group play, or using a smaller or alternative local venue.
