Woman charged over alleged snail pellet poisoning at Perth workplace
An Australian woman has been charged after allegedly putting snail pellets in her girlfriend’s curry at their workplace in southern Perth. Police say the food had been shared with colleagues earlier, and the suspected tampering matters because the pesticide could endanger anyone who ate it.
The 58-year-old noticed green granules in the leftovers at lunchtime and felt her tongue go numb after tasting a small amount. Police identified the pellets as containing metaldehyde and allege the 43-year-old took them from a chemical storage shed before entering the staff lunch room. She faces one charge of endangering a person’s life, health or safety and is due in court in Perth next month.
