Woman sues popular Texas taco chain for $250K after allegedly finding cow tooth in meal, restaurant confirms

Fox News ·

Nohemi Castillo is suing Torchy’s Tacos and its management company after she says she found a cow tooth in a taco from an Austin restaurant and nearly swallowed it. Torchy’s confirmed that its investigation identified the object as a cow tooth, saying such an incident can rarely occur during meat processing; the case raises questions about food inspection and supplier oversight.

Castillo says she ate the meal on 9 June, visited a doctor that evening and suffered physical pain and mental anguish. Her lawsuit, filed on 13 October in Travis County, alleges the food was improperly prepared and inspected and seeks monetary relief of $250,000 or less, with any award to be decided by a jury. Torchy’s says it has worked with its beef supplier to reinforce procedures.
