World of Warcraft: Forever hotfix puts a stop to super speedy flag carriers that were dominating PvP battlegrounds
Blizzard has issued the first major hotfix for World of Warcraft: Forever, addressing a Tauren speed exploit that had been disrupting PvP battlegrounds. The change matters most in Warsong Gulch, where faster Tauren could reach the enemy base and carry the flag away before opponents could readily catch them.
Tauren Plainsrunning grants two per cent extra movement speed per stack, up to 30 stacks, or 60 per cent, with stacks fading when they stop. The hotfix prevents stacks building during the pre-match preparation phase and removes and blocks them while a Tauren carries the enemy flag, though the ability can still help them rush towards the base. The update also shortens the respawn time of escort quest NPC Deathstalker Erland and adds tradeskill bags to Zephras Isle vendors; the launch was otherwise described as one of the series’ smoothest, despite some transport problems.
In short
- Hotfix curbs Tauren speed stacking in battlegrounds.
- Flag carriers lose Plainsrunning stacks and cannot rebuild them.
- The update also adjusts an NPC and adds vendor supplies.
