YouTube might be testing hiding the dislike button
YouTube appears to be testing a change that moves the video dislike button into the three-dots menu, making it less visible and harder to reach. If adopted widely, the change could reduce how often viewers use the button, though the test’s reach is not yet clear.
At least two users on X shared screenshots showing the button in the submenu, while a Reddit user reported that it was missing. Google had not immediately commented. YouTube hid public dislike counts in 2021, while leaving them visible to creators, and earlier this year removed the button from Shorts.

YouTube is a video-sharing service where viewers can react to videos with likes and dislikes. The dislike button has let people give negative feedback, although since 2021 the number of dislikes has been hidden from the public; creators can still see it.
YouTube is owned by Google, which also sets how its features work. The button’s visibility matters because it affects how easily viewers can give feedback and how much that feedback is used; YouTube has also removed the button from its Shorts videos.
