Bethesda says it is investigating whether performance optimisations used for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on Nintendo Switch 2 can be brought to other platforms. This matters because players on PlayStation, PC and Xbox have continued to report serious technical problems, despite earlier patches.

The remaster launched on other major platforms in April last year, with reports of frame-rate drops, traversal stutter and crashes. Bethesda has not provided a date for another update, but said it had heard player feedback and would share further information when possible; early player reports suggest the Switch 2 version performs more smoothly.
