Veteran session guitarist Chris Spedding has been diagnosed with large B-cell high-grade, non-Hodgkin lymphoma and is commencing an extended chemotherapy programme. The 82-year-old has maintained a prolific career spanning multiple decades, collaborating with artists including Roxy Music, Bryan Ferry, Elton John, and Paul McCartney.

A fundraising campaign has been established to support Spedding during his treatment, with organisers citing his need for financial assistance with essential living costs and medical expenses whilst his health condition prevents touring and recording work. The initiative aims to raise £50,000 and has been framed as a show of appreciation from the music community for decades of contributions to the industry.
