Apple TV has unveiled Last Seen, a new thriller premiering this month that echoes the family-centred mystery style long associated with author Harlan Coben, even though Coben himself has no involvement in the project. The series follows Ian Ridley, a former police detective turned dispatcher, who has never given up hope that his daughter Maggie, missing for over a decade, is still alive. His hopes are reignited when he receives a distress call from a teenage girl he believes could be her, setting him on a desperate search to reunite his family.

Last Seen is based on Ryan David Jahn's 2011 novel The Dispatcher, adapted for television by Kris Mrksa and directed by Christian Schwochow. Filmed and set in Victoria, Australia, the show stars Patrick Brammall as Ridley alongside Maxine Peake, Brendan Cowell, Daniel Henshall, Zahra Newman, Jessica Wren, Tobias Muhafidin and Chloe Jean Lourdes. It debuts globally on Wednesday, 9 September with two episodes, followed by weekly instalments each Wednesday until the finale on 7 October 2026.
